Privacy Policy

A business (“your workspace”) signs up for Ramanujam and invites its people. The business records your workspace enters — customers, invoices, stock, accounts, employees — belong to that business, and it decides what is entered and who can see it. We store and process them on its behalf. We are responsible for the data about your own sign-in account.

• Account details: your name, email address, phone number (if given), role and workspace. Your password is stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider.
• Business records your workspace enters: customers, suppliers, products, stock, quotations, orders, invoices, payments, ledgers, GST details, and HR records such as employees, attendance and payroll.
• Photos and files you choose to upload, such as bill photos, bank statements and spreadsheets for import.
• Location, only when you use a feature that records it — marking attendance or logging a sales visit in the mobile app. We record your precise location at that moment, with your permission. We never track location in the background.
• AI assistant and AI import: the questions you ask and the documents you send are processed to produce an answer or a draft.
• Technical data: crash reports (device model, operating system, app version and an internal user ID), usage analytics on our website, security logs of sign-ins and changes, and notification tokens if you turn notifications on.

• To provide the service: keep your books, generate documents, run reports and the features your workspace uses.
• To keep it secure: authenticate you, keep each workspace's data separate, and detect misuse.
• To support you and fix problems, using crash reports and logs.
• To bill your workspace and meet our legal obligations.

We do not sell personal data, we do not show ads, and we do not use advertising trackers.

People in your workspace, according to the roles your admin assigns. And these service providers, only to run Ramanujam:

• Supabase — database and sign-in, hosted on Amazon Web Services in Mumbai, India.
• Vercel — hosting for the website and API.
• Sentry — crash and error reporting.
• PostHog — usage analytics on the website.
• Inngest — scheduled background jobs.
• OpenRouter and the AI model providers it routes to — only the content of an AI request you make (a question, or a document you send for import). Some model providers may keep requests under their own terms, so avoid putting personal data you don't need into AI requests.

If an admin connects another app to your workspace (for example an AI assistant), that app receives the data it is allowed to read. We may also disclose data when the law requires it.

Account details are kept while your account is active. Business records are kept for as long as your workspace uses Ramanujam; Indian GST law requires businesses to keep their accounts and records for at least 72 months after the due date of the annual return, so records may be kept that long even after an account is deleted. Backups are overwritten on a rolling cycle of up to 30 days.

You can delete your account at any time — in the mobile app (Settings → Delete account) or at ramanujam.in/account/delete. Your sign-in is removed and your name, email and phone are erased straight away. The business records you created stay with your workspace, as the law requires. To close a whole workspace, its admin can email us at contact@eshwaran.in.

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask to access, correct or erase your personal data, and withdraw consent. You can turn off location and notifications in your phone's settings at any time. For business records, ask your workspace admin first — they control that data. To exercise a right or raise a grievance, email contact@eshwaran.in; we reply within 30 days.

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest by our hosting providers. Each workspace's data is kept separate, access follows the roles your admin sets, passwords and API keys are stored only as hashes, and sign-ins and changes are logged.

Ramanujam is a business tool for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
